   Composition
Each 5 ml contains: Ambroxol hydrochloride 15 mg / 5 ml

Properties and Effects
Ambroxol hydrochloride is a metabolite of Bromhexine hydrochloride. It is a mucolytic agent with property to increase respiratory tract secretions by reducing the viscosity of mucus. It enhances pulmonary surfactant production and stimulates ciliarys activity, resulting in improved mucus flow and transport. This enhancement of fluid secretion and mucociliary clearance facilitates expectoration and eases the cough.

Indications
Ambroxyl is indicated in:
-Acute and chronic infections of the respiratory tract associated with abnormal secretions, such as:
• Acute bronchitis
• Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
• Asthmatic bronchitis
• Bronchiectasis
• Bronchial asthma
• Chronic pneumonia
-Inflammatory diseases of the rhino pharyngeal tract, like:
• Laryngitis
• Pharyngitis
• Sinusitis
• Rhinitis

Dosage and Administration
Ambroxyl is recommended to be administered after meal.

Children
Up to 2 years: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoonful) twice a day.
2 – 5 years: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoonful) three times a day.
5 – 12 years: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) two to three times a day.
More than 12 years and adults:
5 ml (1 teaspoonful) three times daily.
Initial treatment is 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) three times daily.

Contraindications
• Hypersensitivity to Ambroxol hydrochloride
• Gastroduodenal ulcer

Pregnancy and breast feeding
Like all medicines it is advised to ask your doctor before using ambroxol HCl during pregnancy and breast feeding.

Precautions
If there is any problem related to kidney or liver, consultation with the doctor or pharmacist is needed.

Side effects
Ambroxol hydrochloride is well tolerated; however, rarely allergic responses such as skin eruption, urticaria or engioneurotic edema may occur. While used for a long time, epigastric pain and stomach overfill feeling, nausea and dizziness may occur.

Further remarks
Keep away from light, store in a dry and cool place (below 25 o C).
Keep out of reach of children.
