PROPERTIES OF THE DRUG
Meclizine is an antihistamine. It blocks the effects of the naturally occurring chemical histamine in your body, it is used to treat nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness. Meclizine may also be helpful in the treatment of vertigo (balance disorder) related to diseases of the body's balance (vestibular) system.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) helps the body break down protein, and helps maintain the health of red blood cells, the nervous system, and parts of the immune system.
It is used orally for dizziness, motion sickness and "morning sickness" in pregnancy.
INDICATIONS
Preglizine Plus is prescribed by your physician for the management of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness during pregnancy.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
One tablet at night when retiring
Usage in Children: the safety and effectiveness of this medicine have not been established in children less than 12 years of age.
Usage in pregnancy: Pregnancy Category B: Meclizine , or any other medication should be used during pregnancy only if clearly necessary.
SIDE EFFECTS
More common side effects include: Drowsiness, dry mouth.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
This drug is contraindicated to you if you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to meclizine or similar medicines.
WARNING
If you have asthma, glaucoma, or enlarged prostate gland, check with your doctor before using this medicine.
Since drowsiness may, on occasion, occur with use of this drug, you should not drive or operate machinery while on this medicine.
INTERACTIONS
Meclizine may intensify the effects of alcohol and CNS inhibitors.
OVERDOSAGE
Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency medical treatment immediately.
