DERMATOLOGICAL PREPARATION WITH MULTIVALENT ACTION:
ANTIBACTERIAL, ANTIMYCOTIC, AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY.

Properties
The properties of the components of LOCACORTEN -VIOFORM (L.-V.) are such that it exerts a potent antibacterial, antimycotic, and anti-inflammatory effect. Thanks to its broad spectrum of action, L.-V. is likely to yield good results regardless of the type of infection. Whether bacterial or fungal. LOCACORTEN is outstanding as a topical corticoid because, although it displays a high degree of activity at the site of application, it produces no systemic effects due to transcutaneous absorption. VIOFORM, a therapeutic agent renowned for its value in dermatoligical indications, not only has an exceptionally broad spectrum of antibacterial and antimycotic activity, but also possesses soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, while at the same time combating eczema.
Indications
L.-V. is recommended for the treatment of:
PYODERMA: Acute and subacute forms of pyoderma, e.g. impetigo, acne, furunculosis and sycosis barbae.
MYCOTIC SKIN INFECTIONS: Acute and subacute mycotic infections e.g. dermatomycosis of the hands and feet, epidermophytosis, erythrasma, and tinea barbae.
INFECTED FORMS OF ECZEMA: In the acute and subacute stages e.g. eczema with primary or secondary bacterial infection, mycotic eczema, eczema with mixed infection, and infected eczema of the anal or genital region.
Contra-indications
-Tuberculosis of the skin, syphilitic skin affections, chickenpox, and skin eruptions following vaccination. Known hypersensitivity to flumathasone pivalate or other corticosteroids, as well as to hydroxyquinolines or to iodine.
-Use in children under 2 years of age. -For the safety reasons caution is indicated when used during pregnancy and lactation.
Applications and dosage
As a rule, (L.-V.) should be applied 2-3 times a day. Although in some cases one application daily may prove sufficient. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected site.
Precautions
LOCACORTEN-VIOFORM must not be allowed to come into contact with the conjunctiva.
Information for the patient
LOCACORTEN-VIOFORM (L..-V.) is a preparation which has proved extremely effective in a wide variety of conditions where the skin is inflamed and / or infected. L.-V. cream, should be rubbed into the skin. Since it is neither sticky nor greasy. There will usually be no need to cover the site with a dressing. The cream has a rapid cooling action and quickly relieves itching. Note that, if you stop the treatment before your doctor has instructed you to do so, the disease may possibly recur. Any yellowish stains which L.-V. may produce on clothes or bed - linen can as a rule easily be removed with detergents.
