COMPOSITION
Carbinoxamine maleate 2mg / 5ml
Ephedrine HCL 4mg / 5ml
Codeine phosphate 10mg / 5ml


PROPERTIES AND EFFECTS
CEMO with codeine is a sedative cough preparation.

INDICATIONS
For the relief of cough due to colds or allergy, and especially distressing dry unproductive cough.

CONTRA INDICATIONS
CEMO is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of this product.
Presence of coronary thrombosis ,hypertension and closed angle glaucoma.
It should be given with caution to patients receiving digitalis or patients with impaired hepatic or renal function .
It is contraindicated during acute asthma.

PRECAUTIONS

It contains and antihistamine, and may cause drowsiness ;therefore ,patients subjects to this effect should avoid driving a car or doing work that requires fine precision . It should be used with caution in patients with prostatomegaly or anuria.

SIDE EFFECTS
Headache, nausea, vomiting, sweating, drowsiness, and mouth dryness may be rarely observed. In therapeutic doses of codeine constipation, nausea, vomiting, and very rarely bradycardia, orthostatic hypotension, and skin rashes may occur in patients hypersensitive to codeine.

DOSAGE
Children over 6 years: 1/2 teaspoonful 3 times daily.
Adults: 1-2 teaspoonful 3-4 times daily.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Antihistamines may enhance the sedative effect of central nervous system depressants.
