Tablets: each tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol. Syrup: each 5 ml contains 120 mg paracetamol.
Properties / Effects
PARAMODE is an effective analgesic and antipyretic. It inhibits prostaglandine synthesis. It is equal to Aspirin in respect to its analgesic and antipyretic effects but is virtually safer. It is mainly indicated in patients in whom Aspirin-alike products are contraindicated, as asthmatics, or with a history of peptic ulcer or children at risk of Reye’s syndrome.
Indications
PARAMODE is generally prescribed for the reduction of fever and alleviation of pain such as in tonsillitis, common colds, influenza, headache, toothache, dysmenorrhea, neuralgia, myalgia, osteoarthritis, and inflammation in otorhinolaryngology.
Contraindications & Precautions
It is contraindicated in hypersensitivity to paracetamol. It should be given with care to patients with impaired kidney or liver function or taking other drugs that affect the liver or with alcohol dependence.
Side Effects
Side effects of paracetamol are rare and usually mild, specially if the doses don’t exceed the therapeutic margin. Skin rashes or itching occur occasionally.

Metoclopramide may accelerate the absorption of paracetamol. Excretion may be affected and plasma concentration altered with probenecid. Cholestyramine reduces the absorption of paracetamol if given within one hour of a dose.
