COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains: Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) 100 mg

PROPERTIES
Aspirin has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits also platelets aggregation and thus prevents from blood coagulation.

INDICATIONS
Minispirin is used in the initial treatment of cardiovascular disorders such as angina pectoris and myocardial infarction. Minispirin reduces the risk of future serious vascular events including stroke, in patients with a history of ischeamic stroke. Minispirin prevents venous thrombo-embolism following surgery and pregnancy-induced hypertension.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hemophilia- hemorrhagic disorders- sensitivity to NSAID’s -severe impairment of kidney and/or liver - breastfeeding period - the first and last 3 months of pregnancy (unless advised by your doctor).

PRECAUTIONS
Use with care in dyspepsia or lesion of the gastric mucosa, in asthma or allergic disorders, in kidney and/or liver impairment. Aspirin should be withdrawn few days before surgical operations. Aspirin may interfere with thyroid gland tests.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
Gastro-intestinal disturbances associated with aspirin are enhanced with alcohol and corticosteroids. Dipyridamole, metoclopramide and metoprolol increase the peak plasma concentration of aspirin. Aspirin enhances the effect of anticoagulants, hypoglycemic agents, methotrexate, phenytoin and valproic acid.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
Angina pectoris, transient ischeamic attacks: 1 tablet daily.
Atrial fibrillation, postcoronary surgery, prevention of restenosis: 3 tablets daily.
Myocardial infarction: 2- 3 tablets daily.

SIDE EFFECTS
Gastro-intestinal disturbances such nausea, dyspepsia and vomiting. Symptoms may be minimized by taking the drug with food. Patients with asthma, chronic rhinitis and chronic urticaria exhibit notable sensitivity to aspirin. Aspirin increases the bleeding time and decreases platelet adhesiveness.
